Organic-First Pest Control (IPM)

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) starts with correct identification and the least-toxic fix: hand-picking, beneficial insects, traps, and soaps before any spray.

Identify first

Many "bugs" are beneficial. Correct ID prevents killing ladybugs and bees. Use the finder above to match the pest to your state's common problems.

Organic first

Insecticidal soap, neem oil, Bt (for caterpillars), diatomaceous earth, row covers, and beneficial nematodes handle most outbreaks without broad chemicals.

Chemical only when needed

If damage escalates, use a targeted product and follow the label exactly — timing and dosage matter more than the brand.

Prevention beats treatment

Crop rotation, healthy soil, proper spacing, and attracting predators prevent most outbreaks before they start.
